Happy Back-to-School to all Parents, Educators & Teachers!

Hello everyone, and I hope you all had a great and relaxing summer!
I want to wish you all an exciting, enriching, and fun new school year as teachers and students make their way back to the in-person and online classrooms across Canada.  I also want to take a few moments to update you on some exciting new programs we have for you and your students, including a complete & FREE iPad Animation Workshop for Grade 3-8 classrooms called H.O.M.E. @ School. Since shifting to an online format for all of our workshops, our "co-taught" workshop format has proven very successful with a massive increase in our reach, resulting in powerful professional development opportunities for educators and staff.

New 2022-23 Digital Literacy Programs to Announce

1. Digital Storytelling Series & I BELONG (Oct. 17-Dec. 5 2022)
For the 4th year in a row, all English-speaking Quebec schools are eligible for a $1500 Artist Inspire grant to pay for arts & culture workshops for their students. Through this grant, we are offering a 8-week Digital Storytelling Series for all Grade 4+ classrooms which has been organized by LEARN Quebec's "I Belong" Program. Registration begins September 1st and ends October 7th. Space is limited, so be sure to secure your spot early for our popular series.

2. FREE Student Animation Workshop w/ CobbleStone Collective (Sept. 14 2022)
For this 60-minute hands-on co-taught lesson I will introduce you and your students to important Digital Literacy skills through a fun and easy animation creation activity using Google Slides. The lesson will begin with digging into the principles of animation, how we make our own, and then we'll dive right into a hands-on animation activity that will leave you all wanting to make more. This FREE co-taught lesson is a fantastic way to begin the school year through a fun and engaging activity full of Media & Digital Literacy value! Registration is now open!

If you can't make it to the live lesson, you’ll also have access to the replay for this year, or to add to your teacher toolbox for the years to come! We are also inviting you to join me in a 30-minute Professional Development workshop in the evening of the same day where she will explore additional ways you can easily integrate Digital Literacy into your classroom through Animation and other Media Creation activities.

*Note: each student will need their own laptop or Chromebook and an internet connection

3. And Finally, Our Brand New H.O.M.E. @ School Stop Motion Animation Workshop
After working on this project for the last 14 months, I am so excited to finally share our new Open Education Resource: H.O.M.E. @ School: A Complete iPad Animation Workshop for Grades 3-8. A completely free and downloadable workshop for educators, this resource will encourage teachers to introduce Digital Literacy into their classrooms using an incredibly engaging, hands-on and easily adaptable activity that will help students develop transferable Digital Literacy skills. Register here for our September 20th webinar!
